Portal Invitation Redemption Error

With all invitations we've created, our portal is giving us an error message saying the "Invalid Invitation Code". We are able to create the invitation, and send it using the appropriate workflow. We get the invitation on a test email account, click the link or copy/paste the URL and the portal recognizes the invitation code up to the registration for, but once we submit the form with all the fields filled out, that's when we get the "Invalid Invitation Code" error message. This is on Dynamics CRM 2016 Update 1, and Portals version 8.2.1.71.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Create an Import Template based on the Invitation entity.  Extract a list of contacts you want to send to and put those names into the Invite Contact column.  Import.  You can then bulk Send the Invites using the (work)Flow menu item.   

    Only issue is if you have duplicate Contact Names.  You'll have to create those manually.

    The Fix:

    Use On demand workflow to set the Invitation Type' to Single

    Hi,

    I am having a similar problem with group invites. Only the first contact (in the group invite) is able to redeem successfully. Although, the other contact received invitation emails - they cannot redeem successfully to register on to the portal.

    Did you / anyone find a solution redeem all invited contacts using a group invite? Am I missing something here?

    I am using the MS portal 8.3 community edition. Any insight on this would be helpful?

    Hi efefher,

    I can see that your issue is solved. Want inform it is possible to create bulk/ group invitation by create on Demand workflow using Adxstudio Workflow Helpers:Get Random GUID and its worked for me.

    I know its too late but as per my experience , it seems like you have two environments. May be one for development and another for testing or production for example.

    Send Invitation (workflow) is responsible for sending invitation email but the url in it will be hard-coded one.

    This will not change when you move your solution to next environment and all the invitation mails generated through this workflow points to previous environment. so you are literally trying to redeem invitation of environment 2 in environment 1.

    Where as your invitation code is invalid in environment 1.

    I too had similar issue and first of all I thought its some issue with my configuration, or there is something wrong with CRM blah blah.

    Its that silly mistake which eats so much of our time, finally  I looked at URL and it was not pointing to my present environment but it was pointing to previous environment where the workflow was designed.

    Coming to solution: Well we need a way to get just domain name dynamically and concat it with rest of the part of URL. I tried {Record URL(Dynamic)(Invitation)} But, this will give you Invitation record URL.  if there is any way to get sub-string (organization name) from this url in OOB workflow then it will resolve our issue but I am not sure if there is any way to do that in OOB workflows.

    Thanks for that. I had been trying to get the group invitations to work but I guess that doesn't work, and started creating the invites from scratch instead of from the contact.

    I experienced the same when I created the invitations from scratch.

    However, when the invitation is created using the "create invitation" option on the contact form, the code always works for us.
