Dynamics 365 9.0 On-Premises IFD - Error - Invalid provider type specified

Posted on by 5

I have been configuring IFD for one customer, after I have configured the claims-based authentication in CRM, I get an error message (Invalid provider type specified) when opening the FederationMetadata URL.

Federation Metadata for CRM: https://internal.domain.com/FederationMetadata/2007-06/FederationMetadata.xml

Certificate: Trusted Wildcard Certificate (Enabled for Server and Client Authentication)

CRM Version: V9.0.27.2

Any idea about what the problem could be?
