Auto Reversing process in GL

I have a question for someone that knows how the Auto Reversing process works on the back end of Dynamics SL 7.0.  Have a customer that found a batch that was a reversal of one they had entered.  They say it was not marked as reversing as far as they know but when looking at the database Batch table, I'm seeing the reversing batch has the AutoRevCopy set to 1.  Does the auto reversing process clear the "Auto Reversing" flag once the reversal entries are created?  From other things I've read, the AutoRevCopy is only populated by the Auto Reversing flag but can't find any mention if this flag remains set once this happens.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Dan

    Dan,

Yes, the auto-reversing indicator is cleared when the reversal batch is created.  Remember, depending on how your GL Setup is defined, the reversal will be generated either when the original batch is posted or when the GL period is closed.

The reversal batch will have the originating batch number in the OrigBatnNbr field.  The only way that field is populated like this is when either the original batch was set to aut-reverse or the original batch is a recurring batch.
