Tracking changes within the Vendor Master of F&O

Our treasury department would like to track changes made to the vendor master within F&O.  This can be fields within the master, contacts or banking information.  Is this possible?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Mpavlich,

    Better to check database logging.

It seems the answer for your question.

Database logging is one way of tracking changes and can be used across almost the entire D365 application.

This will as result in changes being logged in a database log.

There is also the vendor approvals option, which allows you to select certain fields and any changes to those fields must then be approved through a workflow.

The drawback is that there are only some fields available to select on vendors, while the benefit is that any changes will go through an approval flow before being changed in the application.

You can find documentation on the vendor approvals option here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/finance/accounts-payable/vendor-workflow

    Hi Mpavlich,

Does the treasury department need all changes and what would be the purpose for them? How would they need to receive the information?

The database log option is mentioned above. For vendors and bank accounts, it could be quite useful to have all changes. For contacts, there is no filter option, so it would log all changes for all contacts; also for customers.

    Hi,

As mentioned below, you can use database log which can provide you details for change tracking.

    Thanks,

    Sheela
