add columns to the 'Choose Columns' option

Posted on by 510

Hi experts,

I got a weird problem here. Once of my customer who is using NAV 2015 doesnt have the columns "Promised Delivery Date, Requested Delivery Date & Planned delivery date appearing on his Purchase Order Lines or Sales Orde lines. When I checked the sub pages 54 & 46, these fields are already on the design and available on previews but in no way appear on the RTC. I cross checked the properties with Cronus and no changes on the properties. I have deleted and re- added these columns, restarted the services but still these fields doesnt appear on the RTC. Only the order date and Expected Receipt Date are visible.

There are some bespoke codes on these pages but they are nothing to do with these pages. If someone can help, it is much appreciated. Or else I need to merge these changes to the latest CU 15 page and try it on the customer database.

Regards,

Cecil

to check which nav objects are within your license you can do the following:

    * either compile all objects with your license. objects which were not compiled are not in the license

    * goto moxie4nav.wordpress.com/.../check-license-state-of-objects and download the check-license-page i've developed.

The permission is set on the 'AccessByPermission' property of the field

This issue is also related to user permissions on tables.

I have a user who was not able to see the fields 'Qty to receive' and 'Qty received' on the purchase order. I added permissions to the Warehouse receipt tables, and the user is now able to view these fields.

    Hi Shalin,

Thanks for your post. We have the same issue in NAV 2015 GB version.  We also do not need the Order Promising feature.  We just want to see the Requested Delivery Date field on the Sales order page.  I tried your work around but the field is still not appearing?  Any ideas?

    Thank you,

    Jennifer

    Hi Cecil,

We applied this solution to our client's DB last week and till date we have not received any complained/issue from client relate to this.

    Thanks,

    Shalin

    Hi Shalin,

I had the same reply from MS & we are planning to remove the property from these fields. I already did try on a test bed and it did work (thought of updating this thread once I get a confirmed reply). I was little unsure whether this will have any implications on the customer DB.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Regards,

    Cecil

RE: add columns to the 'Choose Columns' option

    Hi Cecil,

We had discussed it with MS support and found that "Order Promising" Module is available with extended pack (360). So, either customer have to spend more money to upgrade license or MS can't help.

As our customer was not using any feature of the "Order Promising" or any other extended pack's feature we did below workaround to solve the issue. (thought may be useful to you as well).

    • There is a field level property namely "AccessByPermission".
    • Remove "Order Promising Line" permission from the each of the field of the sales line table which you want to see and use.
    • You will be then able to see and use all needed fields :)

    Thanks,

    Shalin

    Hello Cecil,

    Thanks for your reply.

After further troubleshooting I noted that issue is with the client's license file. When I uploaded our developer license on the live DB and check the sales order page, I was able to see the Planned delivery date field but then after when I change it back to client's license file then again this planned delivery date got invisible.

So, I think issue is with the license file only. Let me know you also experience the same.

    Thanks,

    Shalin

RE: add columns to the 'Choose Columns' option

    Hi all,

Finally I was able to dig out the issue.  Somehow the user didnt have  the table "Order Promising Line" ID:99000880 on their licence. When I uploaded my dev licence on the system, I was able to see all these fields on the PO and SO lines.

When you run the above table directly from the database with the customer licence, we will get a message "You do not have the following permissions on Table Order Promising Line: Execute"

So I went to the partner source and downloaded a detailed permission report on the customer licence and this table was missing in the licence. Now requested a new licence from MS and awaiting their response.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

    Regards,

    Cecil
