Have you tried setting the "Days Transaction Exist" value in the functionality profile? I doubt if the retail logs are considered transactions, but it is worth a try. If you already have lots of transactions in DB and setting this will not immediately work as there is a threshold set at the store procedure level. Try this on a fresh DB or DB with comparatively fewer data.

I could find one store procedure in the Channel DB that deletes Retail logs. But I am not sure what action/operations trigger this stored procedure.

If you are facing issues with managing the DB size DB within 10 GB for SQL express edition, explore data compression options offered by MS SQL.

Hey there! It sounds like you're dealing with a common issue when it comes to database management - namely, the size of your retail store scale unit database is increasing over time and taking up valuable disk space. But don't worry, there are some steps you can take to help alleviate this problem.

First off, it's important to understand that log files and redundant data can definitely contribute to the size of your database. One option you tried was to use a tool to remove these files and data, but unfortunately, it didn't yield the results you were hoping for.

So, what can you do? Well, the good You could to remove log files and other unnecessary data from your DB. You could use SQL Server Management Studio to identify and remove any old log files or other data that's no longer needed.

Another option is to use the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Retail Database Utility, which can help you identify and remove unnecessary data from your database. This utility includes a feature called "Data deletion," which lets you delete data from specific tables based on date or other criteria.

Of course, before you start deleting anything, it's important to make sure you have a backup of your database, just in case something goes wrong. And if you're not comfortable handling this on your own, it might be worth reaching out to a database expert or consultant who can help guide you through the process.

Overall, while managing the size of your retail store scale unit database can be a challenge, there are definitely steps you can take to help keep things under control. Just remember to be cautious, take backups, and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it!

Shawnsauve  Can you share any documentation of the utility you are talking about here?  Channel database utility was a feature in AX 2012 R3, but haven't seen any such option in Dynamics 365 so far.
