After installation of virtual entities cannot use them in Power Automate

Hi all,

after installation of virtual entities in D365HR I cannot use them in Power automate. I am still getting the error message: "Data events are not enabled for virtual entities."

I followed the official MS documentation for the installation, so I don't know what to do else.

The functionality in D365HR is enabled and the virtual entities are generated:

When I create new data, the data is also seen in dataverse, so everything is fine. But when I select a virtual entity like worker addresses V2 in power automate, I get the error message. Any ideas ?

    Hi Rifat,

Why not use the workflow's regular alert email if it's just for email sending? something it can satisfy the same need.

    Hi Parag Chapre ,

there is also a virtual entity which is called "Leave requests (mshr)" and this virtual entity collects also the leave requests of the users. Furthermore, this entity contains the start and end dates of the leave requests in one row only. Therefore I want to use this virtual entity with the trigger "added" but I get always the error message:

"Data events are not enabled for this virtual table. VirtualEntityMetadata configuration is missing."

    The requirement is simple:

Whenever a leave request is created, take the start und end date and send a mail.

    Kind regards,

    Rifat

    Hi Rifat,

I am not sure why you are using data events. What is your requirement and what are you trying to achieve? Based on your answer, I can suggest you best solution.

Hi Rifat50 , you need to enable Virtual Tables to support Dataverse events. Here you can find the official doc :

    Hi Parag Chapre ,

I have documented a specifc case to share it with you.

As you said, I have set the trigger to "added" because VE does not support update and delete trigger.

But again, the error message is still coming. How can I configure the missing metadata ?

    Kind regards,

    Rifat

    Hi Rifat,

Virtual entities have some limitations. VE does not support update and delete trigger. Please check the below limitation.
