Install Binary Platform update into local Dev VM

I tried to Apply D365 Binary update by following below link:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/operations/dev-itpro/deployment/install-deployable-package

All steps seems to me completed, no errors. But i am still wonder how to make sure that Binary updates are applied or not.

Run Book is attached. Even in run book "Stepstate" set as Not started instead of "complete".

Below is the OLD version. which is still shown at AX on my local VM.

Below is latest version where my local VM should be upgraded.

When i Open AX and navigate to Channel deployment page i saw latest MPOS Setup available there which come with ".35151" version

Not sure what went wrong or what i missed.

    Hi,

As the version numbers are changed, the update was successful. I'm not sure if the version of MPOS is correct, but it does not necessary should have the same version number.

Did you also export the runbook after the completion of the setup?

I think i missed that step to exporting the runbook. However i have exported the runbook and it set "Stepstate" as "completed" even for AOSService as well. It seems every thing applied fine and still unable to understand if binary updates applied successfully, then installed platform version should be updated as well. But it is not reflecting.

Even Execute List confirmed that platform has been updated to latest version.

So it looks like everything went well. If you doubt if it was really installed correctly, you can try to use 'Export to Excel' on a list page with more than 2000 records. There used to be a limitation to 2000 records which has been increased to 10000 in Platform update 7.

You can also have a look at the list with updates on this platform and test if these features are working correctly: docs.microsoft.com/.../whats-new-platform-update-7

    Hi,

Check your runbook file, it contains "RunbookLogs" and "RunbookRestoreLogs". If there is no error log in the above list then your update is installed successfully.
