Gift card work across company in Retail?

Hi All,

Can someone tell me if gift card can work across company or do we need to create separate for every company in retail ?

Gift card is working across company's. But only the legal entity mentioned in the commerce parameter is working. If we create gift card is the child company it'll not work in the parent company. Is this correct?
