SQL Server Reporting Services Guide for GP 2013

The document that is downloaded in the GP 2013 downloads area for SSRS installation and configuration shows it is a document for GP 2010. It references that the IIS role needs to be installed on the SQL Server to which Reporting Services will be added, but I have heard from different sources that the IIS role is no longer required. I am a bit confused by all this. Can anyone point me to the correct document for installing Reporting Services to GP 2013?

    Hi Russ,

There is no need for IIS as far as I remember to run your SSRS server in Native mode... unless you want it to be integrated into a SharePoint-like environment, where I would suggest you install the Business Portal 6.0 for your GP 2013 as a web site front-end.

In GP, you have the option to deploy the default OoB SSRS reports either to your SQL server in Native mode or against an existing SharePoint server. If you want to use Windows Authentication mode, install the SSRS native mode on the same SQL server where GP resides, otherwise you'll need to use a Kerberos authentication server to support cross-server identity from your GP clients (Windows Authentication doesn't support more then 2 hops). The documentation for SSRS installation for GP 2010 is still valid for GP 2013, I don't think there were any major changes about the way the reports are installed.

    Russ,

I just published a two part blog on deploying the packaged SSRS items in GP 2013.  You may find the links below.  In the post I made the assumption that when you are deploying the reports that you already have an existing SQL Reporting Server in place.

    Part 1 - Deploying Excel Reports from Dynamics GP 2013 - jonathanpcox.com/.../deploying-excel-reports-in-dynamics-gp-2013

    Part 2 - Deploying SQL Reports from Dynamics GP 2013 - jonathanpcox.com/.../deploying-excel-reports-in-dynamics-gp-2013-2

If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I'd be glad to help out any way I can.
