Posting of separate journal entries with same number

Posted on by 30

Hello,

I have noticed that I am able to post 2 different entries at different times, but both having the same Document No.. Could I get any advice as to how this may have occurred and if there is a way to stop this?

Below is an example of how this is occurring:

Kind regards,

Hi, In fact, for manual numbering, this is allowed by default. Because Document No. is not the primary key.

    For example:

So, please set No. Series in Batches, and a more secure way is to run Renumber Document Numbers before posting.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Assuming these are general journals or from some journal....If you set the same number series for each journal batch, you will get an error trying to post with the same document number. This can become cumbersome and I find it to be a better solution to set different number series for each batch.
