Are you thinking of production group or production pool on the production order, or plan group on the item?
Hi Shantanu Patel9,
Plan group is used to setup alternative item setup. It group all alternative items for an item which is of production type formula in AX.
So while creating a formula if for one item you want to setup alternative items then create a plan group for that item. Now the item for which alternative item is setup will be added to the created plan group.
The primary item should be given quantity 1 and priority 1. The alternative item should be given zero quantity and priority 2 as it will be consumed if the inventory for the priority 1 item is insufficient. So like this you can have many alternative items and they will be processed with there priority sequence in formula.
Where is the Plan Group located to be setup?
Hi! Have you found out how to use plan group and priority?
My set-up is issuing purchase order for Priority 1 item, even if i have on-hand inventory for my alternative item.
Hi (old thread I know...)
I guess that quantity could be set to something else than 1 on the primary item. But I don't ses the point why you must set 0 on the secondary item.
Let's say that you consume 1 of the primary item but due to size, concentration or something else you need 2 of the secondary item. Isn't that supported by the system?
Is this function using alternative items and formulas available in D365 FO?
and in that case, where do you set it up?
