How to override Inventory status on Sales order pick work line

We are using two different inventory statuses- Used and New. We are also using Advanced warehouse management. When we enter a sales order and click release to warehouse it creates pick and put work for the line and also defines the inventory status, how can we override the inventory status at this point?

Also, is there a way where we can ask the system to look for "Used" statuses first and then look for "New' while releasing to warehouse?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi CU05011914,

Terry is right. Pick work is created based on the reservation which includes the inventory status requested on the sales line; its not something that you can change when executing pick work.

For your second question, the answer is the same.  If you look at the Reservation Hierarchy, you will see that Inventory Status is above location. So system will always reserve the inventory status requested on the sales line.

As Terry said, best bet would be for Sales taker to look at available on-hand to determine what is in stock and reserve the inventory status as appropriate.

I don't think the Warehouse module is able to override the Inventory status that has been set on the Sales order line. You would need to get the Sales order line to determine whether the customer is getting Used or New Items.
