Customer insights Data create a segment from Finance and operations contacts related to customer

We have a customer that wants to use Customer insights - data AND journeys, to send out marketing emails as well as reminders for ACCOUNTS (businesses), that have bought a specific item recently.

Our architecture primarily consists of 3 entities from D365F&SCM: Customers, Contacts, Sales invoice lines.

Customer: business profile

Contacts: specific contacts for a business profile, one business profile can have multiple different contacts (this is a number that could even reach 100)

Sales invoice lines: information on when and for how much items were bought.

We successfully pushed the data into Customer insights - data, created needed measures and segments to analyze accounts, but we can't figure out how to send out emails to more than one contact for the same account.

While looking through the documentation the only viable option is creating a "unified business contact profile", but I couldn't get this feature to work - is it only available in legacy B2B environments?

If so would there be a possibility to create a legacy B2B environment and would this help us solve the issue for accounts that have more than 1 contact? Because per this documentation this looks mandatory for our requirements:

    Hi John Mongol,
Yes, you can run B2B contact unification to link many Contacts to one Account (1:N) using a foreign key in Customer Insights - Data.

Yes, you can run B2B contact unification to link many Contacts to one Account (1:N) using a foreign key in Customer Insights - Data. The latest release supports unifying B2B account and contact data into related tables, allowing you to create unified contact profiles linked to accounts via a foreign key, such as AccountId. This enables segments of contacts with specific account attributes and supports working with commercial contacts whose account may be unknown

Minimum prerequisites for contact unification (account-contact relationship + foreign key) are:
    • Source data for contacts and accounts with a foreign key field (e.g., AccountId) linking contacts to accounts.
    • Both tables ingested into Customer Insights - Data.
    • Primary keys set for each table during the unification process.
    • Relationship (foreign key mapping) configured during unification

Customer Insights - Journeys must target contacts, not accounts!

If I understood Your offer correctly we would then have 1 contact as 1 "customer" in CI - data. This means any information based on transactions on "customer" profiles would be invalid, because every contact from the same business account would have the same "amount" on them.

This would confuse anyone looking at the profiles. Is there a way to keep accounts as customer and use multiple contacts for one account in CI - journeys?
