Hello,

Would anyone be able to assist me in finding where in BC365 I can make changes to the bank payment type drop-down list in the payment journal screen? I am looking to add a few options under the Bank Payment Type field but I don't know where to access that in the system. We currently have 4 options but want to expand it to 6.

The four values you currently see (Computer Check, Manual Check, Electronic Payment, Electronic Payment - IAT) are hard-coded. You need to create Custom code and add Enum value

You need to extend the enum "Bank Payment Type" , check this link how to extend enum.

Why do you want to extend this?

Are you trying to add altogether a new payment option?

Make sure you don't mess the existing sequence.

If you just adding 2 more and want to store it for information purpose that's fine but still you need to be very much conscious while passing it to the ledgers and you not overriding the standard one.

Hi, To add more options you will not be able to do it from the UI/Fron-end.

You need to customize this by Extending the Enum object "Bank Payment Type".

It is advisable to not add any option to this Enum unless you are very much sure on what you are doing. You also need to handle this new options that you are adding in the Posting Codeunits otherwise it will have impacts which you need to be careful with.

Hi,

You cannot add new options to the “Bank Payment Type” field using standard functionality because this field is based on a fixed Option field in the base application.
To add more options, you need a customization/extension via AL development.
However, if your goal is to add more Payment Methods (not Bank Payment Types), you can do that via:
Search → Payment Methods → New (this is standard functionality).
