Is there a way to monitor my production BOM accuracy?

Hello!

Is there a way for me to track and monitor if my production BOM is correct or now?

I saw there is some built-in report on Business central:

But none of these report can show me for a period per production BOM exploded components usage. Give me a chance to see the fluctuation per period I should be able see the difference and adjust accordingly.

Anyone has any ideas recommended?

Thanks!
I have the same question (0)

Are you looking for planned vs actual usage for your bom so to speak? For example, bom x had item y with a quantity of 10. On a 3 finished prod. orders bom x had item y with a quantity of 9, 10, 11 consumed?

Hi, the following describes some of the key reports in production reporting.

This may have to be customized if there isn't one you need, or done using other external tools like Power BI.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hi Yunzhu @YUN ZHU

I had a look at the report there. Some field is not showing data in the report when I run them in Business central. We did have some purchase order in the system but it's not showing the data there. Do I have to modify those no data field?

    Hi Valentin,

Yes I am looking for a report to show me the plan used material v.s actual used material based on BOM. If some material is consistently using more or less I will know my BOM need adjustment.

you could use bom version to manage the history based on date ranges, the other bom reports are for costing management mainly.

If your costing method is standard, you could look at the statistics page of each finished production order to see the standard/expected cost vs actual cost. But this will sum the total amount, and its not on a per bom line quantity bases.

If you're looking for something that shows each bom line quantity, there's really nothing out of the box. You would have to create a custom report. It could be a RDLC report / Power BI / Jet Report.

The bom versions will show you your expected vs expected, its not really expected vs actual usage. Unless you update your bom version every time prior to consuming components to reflect the actual consumption, but this isn't really the indented purpose nor is it practical.
