How to change the CRM Default Font

(0) ShareShare

CRM uses the font-family Tahoma, Verdana, Arial for all of it's e-mails etc. Apart from that, we encounter problems when inserting e-mailtemplates made with the font Tahoma: it looks like the formatting get's purged and the signatures are sent without formatting, so that in most cases it get's presented in Times. This looks very clumsy.

For these and other reasons we want to change the default font for e-mails to Arial but we and our supplier, a MS Gold Partner, can't find where this default font is stored. So here's the question:

  • How can we change the default font for e-mails in MS Dynamics CRM?

Any help is appreaciated. We're using CRM 3.0 rollup 3.

    Hi Hans,

CRM does not offer you a generic template font selection, so you should set the font you want to use in each of the templates. If an email which is sent out does not match your template, then I would recommend you to contact Microsoft Support to let them look at your specific situation.

     Hope this helps,

    Hi Ronald,

Thanks for your answer. The point is this: it's defenitely somewhere defined that CRM uses a specific font family as every new item in CRM is default Tahoma and not undefined. In other words: something is somewere setting up a font-tag for every time you type something in in CRM. If not, it would mostly be rendered as Times (dependent of your browser font settings).

So, if something is telling CRM to use Tahoma explicitly, it would have to be changable (unless it's in a DLL perhaps)...

I see your point Hans. Indeed it must be stored somewhere. Where this place is, I do not know. You can try to figure that out by temporarily removing the style sheets and see if it is stored in there. If not, then it will get quite hard to define the location where the font is stored.

If you do find the location, could you post that for other users?

As you probably understand, when you are using this approach and you do have issues, Microsoft will ask you to revert the changes before they will help you fix the issues. The approach described in my first post is fully supported.

    Kind regards,

    Ronald

    Hi,

Unfortunately, no. It should be somewhere, but i haven't found it yet. Please post this thread when you find something!

Hi, it's been a long time.  Did you resolve this as I seem to be having a similar problem in CRM 4?

Unfortunately, no. We're now on CRM 2011 and haven't found it yet... Kinda given up hope.

    Hello ,

Currently there is so such functionality available. But I think this is a good idea you can raise a product suggestion for product enhancement. here is the link for the product suggestion.
