Delete icon showing on editable grid even without delete permission

I have an entity where non-admin users do not have delete permissions to it.  When they're on an individual record, the delete button is gone, as expected.  However, on the parent entity I have an editable grid to this child entity, and the trash bin/delete icon shows per record.  If they click it, they get an error that they don't have permission, but why is it there in the first place?  Shouldn't it be hidden if they don't have the entity level permission?

    Hi,

I think you should contact Microsoft support in this case. No one can explain why they design in this way. Too many assumptions.

In previous version there was no delete button in editable grid

Maybe after they accepted the idea from community and decided to add the delete button, but again it is not  a perfect design.

The similar issue  = multi optionset,  they released this feature , but in the end there are many limitations - cannot use for workflow , plugin , report and etc.

Let them know if you think this design is not good.

I assumed this was an oddity or misconfiguration or something on my end, since I've seen other references where people are talking about removing delete icons and supposedly the answer was just to remove delete permissions.  So this is actually the standard behaviour currently?

Argh - just tested on a completely fresh instance and it's the case there too.  BAH.  Didn't even occur to me it was an actual system behaviour.  :-(  Will submit.  Thanks!

    Confirmed - they're saying it's "by design".

I've submitted it to Ideas here, if people would like to vote:
