Hi
I'm wanting to create a modified report and ideally a word template to a Stock MSGP report
Can someone give me the correct steps to do that please.

When you print the 'un-modified' report, do you get an option for Template in the Print Destination window? That will tell you if GP has it configured for a Template or not - if not, then when you print the report to screen, you should have a 'modify' button appear on the screen output window.
If you have the correct security, by clicking on the modify button, you will open the Report Writer. From here, be careful of what you do, but know that you will now be working with a modified report - not the original.
If the report has already been modified, then you are working with the one and only copy of the modified report. So before you begin, with all users out of GP, make a copy of the Reports.dic file. Better safe than sorry.

In addition to Bill's answer, I want to add that you can create a Template from any report whether or not Microsoft has pre-defined one. They have created Word Templates for the 'outfacing' reports, but you can create one from any report. You will need to use their tool to generate the starting template, but it can be done. Which report were you wanting to modify?

Thanks Leslie, I was not clear on that - been a bit since I considered modifying a template - will definitely take notes on this solution.
