Sys Msg 6908 - "Another process has already added the MatlReq item." during WO Material Issues.

Receive the Sys Msg 6908 when trying to do the following in standard mode:

Open WO Material Issues

select WO Nbr

enter new line for item that was not in the original component structure

-- enter invtid, location, qty, lot/serial info

click Issue Material

This is 2011 fp1.  I don't see a record for the item being added in the womatlreq table for this work order.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Jen

Update - through a trace, I can see the problem - the newly added record is trying to create a womatlreq record using a lineref that already exists.

My new, but, related question - in this example, the component list created womatlreq records using lineref 00001 thru 00039.  They manually added a component (that is lot/serial tracked) during material issues - rather than assigning lineref = 00040, the system assigned 00041 (00040 does not exist).  Now, the newly entered record is trying to use 00041, resulting in the error.  Lineref 00041 has already been issued out of WO and released in IN, so, deleting and reentering it is not an option.  Can I update womatlreq.lineref = 00040 on the already issued line?  If yes, are there any related tables.fields that I should update as well?  If I do this - then I'll be able to add this last component without error.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

    Jen

    Hey!

This ended up in the customer forum.  CK has a filter for ones that have not been replied to and since you replied to your own, it didn't show.  She asked me to investigate and here I am!

    Have a good day!
