Commission to Sales People, Cashiers and Delivery Guys

Posted on by 445

Hi Forum

I need a solution to the following scenario:

. A customer deal with a sales person who creates a sales order with the items, each item.

. A cashier pulls up the sales order and creates an invoice as finishes the transaction.

. A delivery guy is assigned to deliver the goods to the client.

What I need is to be able to award commission to the sales person, the cashier and the delivery guy.

Can anyone assist?

AGH

    Hi again,

The work around to assign two reps to a transaction is by creating a combination of the two reps which can function, but if you have a lot of sales reps it goes beyond cloogey and towards impossible.  For instance:

    REP 1

    REP 2

    REP 3

    REP 1 + 2

    REP 1 + 3

    REP 2 + 3

In the example above, if you added a new rep (REP 4) you would need to create four new sales reps (REP 4, REP 1 + 4, REP 2 + 4, REP 3 + 4).  A fifth rep would require five new records and so on.

I suppose you could work out a report to look at any and all reps in a transaction, but report by transaction but this might not work if this behavior is dynamic.

    Thanks Heidi.

Further, I think we will go the route of exporting a report and using that to pay commission to cashiers as RMS doesn't allow for Cashier Commission.  I was thinking of doing the same for the delivery person as well.

Is there a work around for RMS to assign 2 sales people to an ENTIRE invoice?

The idea is to run a report showing the sales people and invoice information.

    Hi AGH,

RMS already calculates commission for sales people, so that's ready to go.  You can easily use formulas in reports to calculate commission for the cashiers so that can also be accomplished quite quickly and easily.  You will need to decide on how you want to "assign" your delivery person though - perhaps typing a code in the Transaction Reference Number field so you can also use reports to calculate the commission.  Without a customization providing a drop down list or something similar, the cashiers who assign the delivery person code will need to be deliberate in entering the data to ensure accuracy on the reports.
