Hi All -

We are rendering lookup as drop down, its working fine as expected behavior. But filtered lookup not working in CRM Portal.

Say example Country is one lookup rendered as drop down & if we need to filter related states then its not working. Currently its loading all states in State lookup (rendered as dropdown)

Can anybody help on this ?

Regards,

Abhishek Bihani

    Hi Abhishek,

The filtering is not an OOB feature in Portal. You should customize this.

    1) Query CRM - Liquid - FetchXml

    2) Create a new Select box and render the data into it.

    Thanks,

    Akhil

    Hello Abhishek,

Filter Look up OOB functionality which is working on CRM form will not work  same in CRM portal pages because CRM portals pages are also follows state less protocol , you can follow below approach to achieve filter drop down functionality in CRM portal pages.

    1) Once user selects Country drop down (On selection of item using jquery/ javascript refresh the page by passing selected Country ID as a query string to page)

    2) Use Liquid template code to get states related to country using country ID from query string.

let me know if you need any help here.

    Thanks

    James

Abishek, and yet another option ))

Since filtered lookup REALLY WORKS! at the Portal when you use OOB lookup dialog, you can just use javascript to hide OOB design and replace that dialog with your dropdown. It is surely not easy , and possibly approach from Emmanuel  will work better, especially taking in mind that we don't actually need to refresh the page, and we can rewrite this with an additional liquid page (or odata feed for that entity) and javascript ajax requests to retrieve the updated list for the dropdown.
