Add Link to Disqualified Lead to timeline after Merge

After I run a Merge on two lead records, I would like to see a reference to the old, disqualified record in the open lead's timeline. Would a plugin be required for this added functionality? It would be a good feature to have!

Hi Richard,

When you merge two records, the record you are removing (the one that isn’t the master, also known as the subordinate record) is updated:

its status is changed to Inactive

the merged field is set to true

the masterid field is set to the ID of the master record

You can use workflow to create one custom post in the Timeline of master record.

Refer to the following detailed steps:

(1)Create one real-time workflow:

(2)Set trigger:

(3)Add condition:

(4)Create post and set properties:

(5)Save and Active it.

Test:

(1)Merge the following two Lead records:

(2)Result:

It works perfectly! Thank you! One follow-up question:

How would I add a line in the post that includes a date/time stamp of when the record was merged and the user that merged the record? I do not see them in the list of values I can insert into the text body.
