If you select two contacts in CRM from the Contact view, there will be a "merge" option in the top ribbon. This will allow you to merge the two contacts. this works with most record types in CRM.
Hi Alok,
If you select numerous records within the Contacts entity, a button will appear on the command bar called "Run Duplicate Detection". Now it gives you two options, to run it for the selected records or for all records within the entity.
After you select the relevant button you will be faced with a Duplicate Detecion Job screen. Select the settings thats relevant and run it. Navigate to Settings >Data Management > Duplicate Detection Jobs and select the most recent job that has been run.
Open this up and click View Duplicates, which is on the navigation bar on the left of the screen. From here you can delete and merge duplicates.
Hi Wayne,
As per that process one-by-one record will be merge.I have more that 1000 record and his duplicate record.
Note:- I want merge automatically at a time all record.
CRM has no supported method for more than two records at a time. For one, how on earth would you decide how to make each record "win"? If you have more than 1000 duplicate records, you really just should delete them, or go through the effort of merging the duplicates. It's a one-time effort, and there's no magic shortcut for it.
At best, you could write code to do it, but that's not going to be faster than just doing the merge.
Hi Wayne Walton,
Many Many Thanks
Thanks
Can i delete the inactive merged records in CRM, will it cause any impact to the master record, If i delete the merged record
@vikram1623 If you have merged two records and then delete the inactive record, this will not impact the active master record.
Hi,
You stated "Delete/Merge'. Which do you want to do? If you want to bulk delete, then go to the Contacts view and select the drop-down option from the [Delete] button. You'll see another option named "Bulk Delete". You can use this bulk delete to filter the records you want to delete. Once you execute this option, the delete will run a background job to delete all records matching the filter criteria.
BE CAREFUL THOUGH; You cannot undo or stop this bulk delete once it have begun!! And all related records will be deleted too.
If however, you want to merge records, you'd have to merge one at a time.
Hi Alok, I have developed a Bulk Auto Merge Tool for CRM, Its currently in Beta Testing. Let me know if you would like to try it to solve your problem ?
Best Wishes, Raz
Hi Raz, we've been experiencing the same issues in the last period of time, is your tool available yet? We're very keen to see if this will merge the thousands of duplicates that we are currently having.
