Hi,

Just curious before I actually run the DB sync from command prompt.

Can I use the following command to perform DB sync from CMD window?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Client\bin
Ax32.exe  -lazyclassloading -lazytableloading -StartupCmd=Synchronize

That is a valid way of synchronizing an AX DB.

however if there are any popup dialogs by the synchronization process due to disabled config keys affecting views, or changed metadata I am unsure if that screen shows up correctly. I have noticed in the past that in such case for Build scripts when you also provide the -minimize flag to run it in a non-interactive session the synch could get stuck.

    Vilmos,

Oh okay. Also along with the above command there was mention if the sync does not work, i.e. gets stuck or stops use the following command.

    Ax32.exe  -lazyclassloading -lazytableloading -StartupCmd=Synchronize -internal=NoModalBoxes

If I don't use CMD, then I run from AX in the following way correct?

System administration > Periodic > Database > SQL administration.

On the Table actions menu, click Synchronize database, or click Check/Synchronize

Yes, or you could open the Application Object Tree, right click the Data dictionary node and select Synchronize from the popup menu.. Alternatively it could be called from code, if I remember correctly it is Application.dbSynchronize - the same one is called from the startup command, check Classes > SysStartupCmd.

Running the DB sync from command line this way turns on the silent mode of the DB sync no dialog is issues, any DB error or warning is treated as confirmed.

The result (the errors) of such DB sync can be looked up in the Windows Event viewer / Application Log.
