We are using another application/Sofware for marketing. I wanted to communicate with the contacts inside the D365 . how can i directly access those records or data to send email, or text using our own application

Every application provides some kind of extension point, so depending on your application framework or using any middle tier you should be able to consume Dynamics 365 SDK, it does not matter if you are using on line or on premise.

Hi Jane,
You need to connect to D#^% from your application and then retrieve the contact list. You would need to use CRM SDK to achieve this.
