Tracking Work Permits

Good Day, I am fairly new to D365 for HR. Can anyone advise where i might be able to track work permits in D365 HR?

A work permit would be for an employee that is native to another country and requires a permit to work at the organization.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello Ali,

In HR module, we do not have a field to specifically to track the work permits. However, you can find it on the position/job on a certificate tab. Below is the navigation details to what I am pointing here.

    In HR module,

    1. Navigate to Personnel management > Links > Employees > Click on Employees

    2. Select an employee you would want to check the work permit > Click on Positions tab >

    3. Select the Active position and click on the Position

    4. Next click on the Job

    5. In the Job, click on Certificates > you will see/ or can add Certificate type for VISA.

    Hope this helps

Thank you Poornima, I checked on the demo version, the certificate you noted is not available in my version however, I see a work certificates option which can be accessed from the navigation pane. I would have liked to have an expiration date, which I don't see any of.

Hi Poornima, I figured why my environment is different from yours. Seems i used the wrong link to sign up for a test environment. I still however would like to have an expiry date for the permit. Do you have any recommendations (I am getting access to the real test environment now)?

    Hi Ali,

If your requirement is just a work permit field then you can create a custom field and use it for that purpose.

    hi Mystique,

I would suggest to keep it simple, and store it on the worker record.

In my implementation experience I typically upload it as Identification Type. The system does not have a pre-defined place to put it, so you would have multiple options.

Using the Identification Type enables easy access with the "people workspace":

Please note that the 'work permit' needs to be setup first via Personnel Management > Links > Identification Types

We use Identification to track work permits as well as all RTW , you can set up types to manager this and then the expiries flag both in MSS and in personnel management
