CRM 4.0 - phone system integration help required

Hi, I have recently put in a zultys phone system that has a communication function that will use information from the incoming call to call a url and I need to work out what url is required to bring up a company that has a number corresponding with the inbound calling number.

I know it's an old version, our IT manager has confirmed we are upgrading to 2013 this year sometime.

Our crm is used from within Internet Explorer.

The SDK ist still available for CRM 4.0 in MSDN:

msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn672339.aspx

The URL to open an account in CRM 4.0 directly looks like:

http://crmserver/SFA/accts/edit.aspx?id={1F8B6FC0-426A-4122-BAC2-A05B6071FC57}

You need therefore a functionality to get the GUID based on the phonenumber.

In JScript something like that will work:

msdn.microsoft.com/.../cc677077.aspx

(This is a sample to retrieve contacts based on City. Change the request for your Needs)
