Thanks guys. Worked like a charm!
Yea I meant FNCHPCNT=0 instead of 0.00 :). Nice thought process though. I will do as you say and update both % and amount to 0. I have tested this in the test company but I wanted to make sure you guys didn't see a problem with anything either. Thanks for your help!

Hi,
I can't see a reason why you couldn't update the finance charge type and reset the percentage back to 0.00 in this way.
However, not sure your query is exactly right.
Finance Charge Type (FNCHATYP) of '2' is 'Amount'....therefore this would be related to Finance Charge Dollar amount - (FINCHDLR) and not FNCHPCNT as you have defined above. Unless of course at some stage the finance charges were set to be Percentage....since this field and the finance charge amount field hold their value only losing it when the type is set to none ('0')
Eithre way, probably best to update the type to None ('0'), and re set both the amount and percentage fields to zero. The stored value in FNCHPCNT is '0', but running the query with '0.00' is fine.
As always, test in a test company first. Change the finance charge defaults, run a check links on the debtor master files, and process some finance charges etc. Satisfy yourself that this works before running it in the live company (with a back up done first, of course!!).
