Inventory reservation from main warehouse

Hello Community.

I have the following scenario.

I have main warehouse and child warehouses, with automatic inventory reservation. When a sales order comes in and there is no on-hand inventory available in the child warehouse, the reservation should be done against the main warehouse.

Is that possible?

Hi rfernandezp,

What is your mode of transffering inventoty from Child to Main? If you are using MRP along with transfer order , you can set up

1. Coverage group setting up planned order type transfer.

2. Also you need to set up "Reserved Inventory" check mark of transfer order set up.

This Should reserve inventory in child warehouse and if inventory is not available it will become reserved order (Sales Order and Transfer Order). Also It will ask for Purchase Order, for that you need to set up item coverage group for child warehouse
