SSRS Report for WO - Signature is blurry and not clear

Posted on by 873

Hello everyone,

I built two different SSRS reports to show up some details including the customer signature for a Work Order in FS.

The parent report is related to the work order entity dataset that has an image control that I assigned to it the sub-report.

The signature report which is the sub-report linked to the above parent (I mentioned above) it includes the image control and the dataset of the annotation entity.

While running the report as a result the signatures are showing but the problem is they are not clear and blurry.

Please find below the size settings for the image I am using in the sub-report:
ImageSize.PNGBorder.PNGImageProp.PNG

If I open the same image in a new tab from the report the resolution is perfect.

What should be changed in the image settings in the sub report in order to display it in a high resolution in the report?

It might be the problem because I am using sub report and not directly linking the notes entity to my fetch XML query in the parent report and using the image control directly there?

I would highly appreciate it if someone can provide an example and the solution for that scenario.

Please let me know if you need any further information.
Thank you!

    Hi Leah,

The format of the image is base64 since the signature is stored in the Note entity in the documentbody column.

The property of the image is already set to Fit proportional.

I did not find the preview mode property in order to change it as below:
    ReportProp.PNG

Could you please tell me where can I set the preview mode to Print layout? (Provide a screenshot if possible)

I checked & followed the below link mentioned and I got the below result:

    WO1.PNGstill blur
As you see above, for the first screenshot the signatures are clear but for some others WO records it is still not clear.
If we increased the height of the image it will look good but the report will look very big.

Can you advise what should be changed?

I look forward to hearing back from you.
    Thank you!

    Hi EBMRay,

What the format for the image? you can try to save the image with other formats.

Then you can check following settings:

Check the property on Image size in SSRS and set image size to Fit proportional if it is not already set to this.

On the Report properties set Preview Mode to Print Layout
