Error on Merging Contacts

Hi,

For the last few weeks, whenever I try to merge most Contacts. I am receiving an error and the child Contact is not being deactivated.

When I look in System Jobs, the message shows as 'Lead with ID xxxxxxxxx does not exist' and the first few lines of the error message are below;

Unhandled exception:
Exception type: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault]
Message: Lead With Id = d1497e1b-f699-ea11-a812-000d3a2c5614 Does Not ExistDetail:
<OrganizationServiceFault xmlns:i="">www.w3.org/.../XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="">schemas.microsoft.com/.../Contracts">
<ActivityId>fb878567-0ea8-4ed3-a2b2-c9dff14d3299</ActivityId>
<ErrorCode>-2147220969</ErrorCode>

Does anyone have any idea whats causing this? Its causing some serious headaches for me. I have read through a few things and someone has mentions re-starting the asynchronous service but I dont know if thats the solution and we have Dynamics365 so I dont know how to do that.

Thanks a lot as always

Ted

    Hi TedW,

You can try to switch to different browser, incognito mode or clear browser cache to check if it comes up on the form.

    Hi Leah,

Thanks for your suggestion, but I am the System Administrator so have all roles assigned.

    RE: Error on Merging Contacts

    Hi TedW,

When you are merging records also related records are reassigned to the other record, so if the user does not have proper permissions to this records, there will be an exception.

So you can check the security roles for users facing this issue and under leads & contacts, provide them correct privileges.

1.Go Settings > Security > User to select the user who have the issue.

Clicking Manager roles to check which security role have assigned to the user.

2.Go Settings > Security > Security Role to check contact and lead privileges under Core Records tab.

3.Then try to merge contacts again.
