Failed to Log on to AX 2012 - Any ideas?

Hi,

We are getting ready o start using AX 2012 in one of our VM's and for some reason when I try to open AX 2012 I get an error message that says "Failed to Log on to Microsoft Dynamics".

I checked the user account and I'm an admin in both the machine and AX. I'm also part of AD and a valid user in citrix.

We setup other VM's and I did not see this problem.

Any ideas why this could be happening?

Thanks!

If that is all-in-one installation (not dependent from other servers) copied from the working environment and with properly changed network parameters for the target system then you should check following (from HW to APP level):

1.Network adapter problems on VM (I had similar error)?

    2. Is domain controler available on VM (I had similar error)?

    3. Have you been copied VM from one domain to another?

    4. Have you changed your computer name on your VM and DNS but not changed in AOS and client config?

    4. Is AOS up and running? If yes try to disable firewall on VM.

    5. Does your windows domain logon username for VM exists in dbo.SYSUSERINFO table in SQL database on your VM?

Without additional analysis, my opinion is that you have HW or Domain issue, of course if you have

    a)  all-in-one installation (not dependent from other servers)

    b) copied from the working environment

    c) with properly changed network parameters for the target system

If you are using the same domain on source and target system for your VM, than it is probably HW (network related issue).

Thanks for the reply. The problem was that I was not a user in AX when my customer told me I was ... so I trusted them and i did not question that possibility. After a few days I said ... Are you sure? And then the truth came out ...
