is there a public cloud based sandbox/test lab for Dynamics?

We need to develop an application that needs to do some lookups through the webapi,

is there like a lab virtual appliance or online sandbox available (i.e. one that resets every night with some dummy data)

Are the WebAPI's for Online and 2013/2015/2016 the same?

    Hi Sascha,

    You can register for a free 30 day trial which gives you the latest version of Dynamics 365 (Online).  It comes with some sample data.

    There are two types of instances (Production and Sandbox).  You can reset a Sandbox instance.

    You can also switch a Production instance to Sandbox and vice versa.

    Web API was only available from CRM 2015 Update 1 (online only) as a preview and has been enhanced in each later versions.
