Incremental CIL takes too long time in AX 2012 R2 CU7

Hi All,

I have one doubt regarding Incremental CIL.
In my application i run the Incremental CIL and it is taking more than 15 hrs and still going.

My doubt is can i close that application in the middle from where i run the Incremental CIL

I opened another instance there all inbound ports are deactivated state bcoz Incremental CIL is in progress.Inc-CIL1.png

in that instance i again tried to generate Incremental CIL  it is throwing a error message Another instance of CIL generation is already in progress. Please wait for the operation to complete before retrying.

Please advise me Can i close that application in the middle where i run the incremental CIL?

if i closees the AX application will work or not?

Thanks,

Krishna

What Martin said is correct, but we have to stop the AOS and delete the record form SQL...

    Thanks

    Hi everyone,

I have the same issue but i resolve it by another way. you have to just edit the info dialogue

there you can comment code from  if(!LastValue) condition to onward then compile it and again Generate Incremental CIL . it will work

A few people have said that they couldn't delete the value.  I found that if you do this: Select * from SysProcesses you will find a "Blocked" process.  Hint - it will have the same SPID as is in brackets at the top of your SQL Server Management Studio.  Perhaps kill the process that is blocking it, however that is likely to be an AOS process doing a CIL build (or maybe failed???).  Maybe killing the process will cause AOS to stop, or stop functioning correctly.  I'm unsure.  However, killing the process, which allowed the delete to work, allowed me to start another full CIL, but it just doesn't appear to be completing.

Review locks of the table. The behavior sounds like that there is an exclusive lock.

Nevertheless running incremental CIL in production sounds like a bad idea to me. Why don't you build full CIL in your preparation environment and then move compiled to to production?

I consider incremental CIL a developer tool and it doesn't have place in my deployment process. Doesn't it mean that you're doing other development tasks in production environments?

actually this is third or fourth time in our production server when running incremental CIL AOS is getting hanged, when closing AX client by force then reporting server is not working it need incremental  CIL to be generated and system is not allowing to Generate CIL saying "Another instance of CIL is in process". as per your solution I tried to delete CIL related record from SysLastValue table but system is not allowing. first tried form AX client it hanged, then tried from database and its also running for more then 2 minutes but no result. at then end I should restart AOS server after AOS restart CIL related record is not visible in SysLastValue Table. hope I can explain the problem.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you need from me. It seems that you claim that you can't delete the record (without explaining why), but then you're saying that the record is deleted.

    Hi Mr. Martin,

I am facing the same issue and cannot delete record from AX client and SQL server by running below query, after service restart the record is deleted by system.

delete from SYSLASTVALUE where USERID = '-AutoSem'

    Thank you so much martin.

I close the Application and i opened again but All inbound ports are deactivated state.

Then i restarted the AX service after that all ports are in activates state.
