Scheduling Service Activity where site within X miles?

Hi all,

We need to incorporate a feature into CRM to allow users to search for available appointments based on their location (postcode) and the address of the Site. We would like to reduce the customisation as much as possible, but are aware that there will most likely be some (e.g. distance calculator API). Ideally, the user would type in their postcode and a certain mile radius and then a list of available service appointments at sites within that radius could be booked.

I am curious as to whether or not anyone has ever had a requirement such as this or where to begin? Perhaps an embedded HTML webpage/resource on a custom entity for the search and booking of appointments? Any tips or suggestions appreciated. This is on CRM on premise 2015 Update 0.2

Many thanks

Customizing CRM has a risk of having a recursive effect on other functionalities of the CRM. We at Inogic would advise you to visualize your client records on an integrated map instead, using Maplytics. Maplytics seamlessly integrates with an existing CRM within a few minutes. All the records can then be visualized on the map using colorful pushpins.

    Radius Search
Using the Radius Search feature, you can mark your current location and plot the clients around you with a specific travel time or distance. The travel time and distance to them will also be available along with optimized travel directions.

    Plot by Region
You can also use the Plot by Region option and plot all the records within a specific Postal Code. To make the task easy, any location within this postal code could be marked as the GPS Location and the nearest records within the Postal Code could be identified quickly.

    Appointment Planning
Appointments can be planned in this manner for days/weeks with the field reps aware of all travel details.
Apart from this, Maplytics also offers features such as Territory Management, Heat Map Analysis, Route Optimization, and more to streamline operations and increase productivity.

For more details do check out the website or write to the team at crm@inogic.com

    Thanks,
    Sam

Instead of customizing the CRM by embedding the webpages, you can integrate a plugin that would represent your records on a map, provide you the shortest route and a map to take you to the exact location.

You can go for AppJetty MappyField 365 for Dynamics CRM.

    Some of its features include:

    • Record Mapping

Users can map and collect all the required information. With this feature, they can identify nearby places to accomplish their tasks. As in your case, they can view the available appointments/services in their nearby location.

    •  Route Optimization and Sharing

This feature allows users to create an optimized route that they can share with others to save their time reaching the destination.

    • Navigation via Maps

Users can navigate to their destination by following the Google Map, Waze Map, or Apple Maps.

    • Schedule Management

Users can manage their booked appointments and schedule using a smart dashboard.

    • Advanced Search

Users can search for appointments by area, regions, availability, proximity, and other defined entities.

RE: Scheduling Service Activity where site within X miles?

Hi Calling, I  developed a solution that represents all your records visually on a map, based using bing geolocation. however i only did it for the Customer records, i will need to ammed it to allows you to view your Acivities with the same experience via the chart pane. But this will require the user to select the closest based on whats presented visually?

    However I believe Inogic already may have a solution which you can purchase;

    Maplytics Features:

    1. Plot any entity: Maplytics supports for all entities in Dynamics CRM. User can plot any entity on Bing Map from within Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

    2. Save geographical search: Maplytics allows user to save geographical search results. The search results can be saved as static personal views in CRM.

    3. Heat Maps: Maplytics also support Heat Maps. Heat maps helps to understand the concentration of your biggest accounts, opportunity, hot leads or any other entity.

    4. Color coding of pushpins: With Maplytics user can color code pushpins based on configurable categorization in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

    5. Search records: Maplytics provides the ability to search records within a given radius of a location.

    6. Print and Export search results: Maplytics allows to print or export search results to an external file.

    I hope this helps
