Error 16249 Multiple Alternate Inventory IDs

Greetings,

I am new to Dynamics SL, so please pardon me if this is an elementary question. When entering our orders I've run into an issue with multiple Alternate Inventory IDs. If I type over the Alternate ID that was previously assigned to the item I receive Error # 16249.

Is there a way to edit or clear Alternate IDs associated with their Inventory IDs?

Thank you!

Scott

    Hi Scott,

This has been identified as bug 22456.  This issue has been corrected in Dynamics SL 2011 SP1.  There doesn't seem to be a way to select a different alternate id when there are multiple assigned to the same inventory id.  You can go into the Item Cross References screen in Inventory and delete the Alternate ID's that aren't needed.  Please let me know if you have additional questions on this topic.

This is still a bug in SL2011 SP1.  Also, searched for the bug you mentioned and nothing referencing that number in the KnowledgeBase.

We are getting this message in SL 2011 FP1 with hotfix HSL2011FP1_26054OM installed.  In our case, the customer has the same item number for two different inventory IDs - and this is valid.  In 7x, they used to be able to enter the customer part number and choose the correct item from the pop up Look up screen but now they have to initiate the lookup screen, entere the customer part number in the lookup and then select - more work.  Is this a bug?
