I get the above error on a machine I am setting up for the first time. I have made sure that the Epson driver was installed with CCO. Any suggestions?

Probably because of epson drivers. Which Epson Opos version did you install?
I guess you're getting this error when you opening the Store operation POS.
If yes, remove the Epson drivers and re-install the Store operation.
Then try to open it and check whether its working fine.
Uninstalled l the Epson drivers and reinstalled. Works fine.
