I did complete the install on the new server, imported the definitions from the old one. all seems to be perfect except that I'm getting an error when I connect to the server through the browser: http://server:4712

HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.

the weird thing I cannot find the site on IIS nor the application pool

I must be missing something...

    Hi Alaa,

I've split the thread to continue with the second topic. .Please mark the 1st one as completed.

Like Josh mentioned, you cannot access the MR 2012 web page like a traditional IIS site.. though it is accessed thru HTTP / Web browser, it's not relying on IIS to run, and you can't actually manage the security thru there.

The only way you can manage the access to the web client is thru the MR 2012 Designer in the Security section. Please read the user guide about how to define users for MR2012 and access the reports that are generated.

You can access all the documentation about MR 2012 here :

    Hi Alaa,

Thanks for the update. Your questions are not related to the original topic of this forum thread but I will answer them quickly for you.

MR 2012 does not use IIS and does not create a website that you can browse to, so that is expected. Generate a report in the Report Designer and you will see that the report will open by default in the web viewer using the full address needed to contact the MR services and view a report.

If you have any additional questions not related to the process of moving the MR database, please start up a new forum thread so we can keep those items separate and more easily searchable by other forum users.

    Thanks!
