I can't seem to get sales orders, quotes or invoices to sync from Sales to Business Central.

These are my connection settings:

I can't seem to edit the "greyed out" toggles and can find no solution.
I have the same question (0)

    Hi

If you're still unable to sync sales orders, quotes, or invoices from Dynamics 365 Sales to Business Central, here are the key areas to double-check:

    1. Required Entity Coupling
Even with sync enabled, any uncoupled dependencies (like Customers, Currencies, Units of Measure) can silently block sync.

    • Go to Integration Table Mappings and confirm all necessary records are coupled
    • Check the Integration Synchronization Errors page for hidden blockers

    2. Trigger Conditions for Sync
In bidirectional sync, syncing typically begins when a Sales Order is marked “Submitted.”

    • Ensure that the status on the Sales Order or Quote meets the expected trigger condition
    • If the record is not submitted or mapped correctly, sync won’t proceed

    3. Integration User Privileges
The integration user must have System Administrator rights in Dataverse

    • Go to Power Platform Admin Center to verify or assign necessary roles
    • Without this access, BC cannot read or write Sales data—even if toggles are on

    4. Sync Job Timing
Sync is not real-time—it runs on a schedule or is manually triggered

    • Try initiating sync manually from Integration Table Mappings
    • Consider setting up Job Queues for more consistent syncing

    5. Setup Wizard Recheck
Sometimes a previous configuration—especially from legacy sync—can interfere.

    • Run the Assisted Setup for Dynamics 365 Sales Connection again
    • This ensures all fields, mappings, and triggers are aligned to current sync setting

Here’s a helpful Microsoft guide on Troubleshooting Synchronization Errors and a community thread explaining Bidirectional Sync Behavior in detail.

The status of your orders need to be "submitted" for the orders to sync

This might be helpful for resolving your issue.

Regarding the "Automatically Create Sales Orders" and "Automatically Process Sales Quotes" toggles:

These toggles in Business Central's Dynamics 365 Sales connection should automate sales order and quote creation from Sales. They might not be working due to:

    • The Sales order/quote in Dynamics 365 Sales not reaching the required status.

    • Related job queue entries in Business Central not running or having errors.

    • Filters or mappings in the integration setup excluding these records.

    • Manual synchronization potentially taking precedence.

    • Permission issues for the integration user.

    • Customizations interfering with the standard process.

    •

Check the Dynamics 365 Connection Setup, Job Queue Entries, the status of your Sales orders/quotes, and the Synchronization Log in Business Central.

    Regarding Write-In Products:

Business Central typically handles write-in products from Dynamics 365 Sales by mapping them to a pre-configured non-inventory item or a G/L account. The description and price usually transfer. You can configure this in the "Sales & Receivables Setup" or the Dynamics 365 Connection Setup. Look for a "No. for Write-in Products" field.

Thank you ,Sagar.  If I wanted to do this, how do I disable sales integration setup?  Can't seem to find an off switch.

    Hi Axeon,

Follow below step To make "Automatically Create Sales Orders" and "Automatically Process Sales Quotes" toggled.
    1. Disable Sales Integration Setup and now it will allow you to edit setups and you can toggle "Automatically Create Sales Orders" and "Automatically Process Sales Quotes"
    2. After allowing "Automatically Create Sales Orders" and "Automatically Process Sales Quotes", Enable sales integration Setup again.
    3. Now, Check job queue entries for it.

    Hello

These toggles are part of the integration settings between Dynamics 365 Sales and BC. Their functionality is as follows:

Automatically Create Sales Orders: When enabled, BC will automatically create a sales order upon the submission of a sales order in Dynamics 365 Sales.

Automatically Process Sales Quotes: When enabled, BC will automatically process a sales quote when it's created and activated in Dynamics 365 Sales.

Thank you, Sagar.  I was digging around in the sync logs and found that the SO was using a freight term that was not coupled to BC so I fixed that and the SO sync'd to BC -pretty cool.

I am still interested in how to make the "Automatically Create Sales Orders" and "Automatically Process Sales Quotes" toggles work.  Or are they superseded by something else I've done?

I would also like to know how sync'd Orders from Sales to Sales Orders in BC handle write-in products?  The SO I just sync'd was made up entirely of them.  I did find a MS article on the subject but it did not provide the clarity I had hoped for.

    Thanks!
