ASN receiving for transfer orders

Does anyone know or have more information on the configurations required for receiving transfer orders via ASN from a non-WMS warehouse to a WMS warehouse ? Any articles regarding it will be helpful as well.

    Hello Madhya,

    If you require to do Transfer receive from Non-WMS to WMS warehouse within same entity in AX, Why do you require ASN ?

    Thanks Ashish. I am not sure I understand your question.  Basically I would get an ASN when the vendor ships the transfer order and will like to receive using ASN in our warehouse. The vendor warehouse is a non-WMS warehouse and our warehouse is a WMS warehouse

    Hello Madhya,

    If the shipment is from Vendor, I understand its purchase receive and not transfer order. So you have a Vendor that would send ASN file, which you want to receive at your warehouse OR is it 3PL warehouse (which is Non-WMS) sending  Transfer order to WMS warehouse.

    Kindly help with the information.

    Yes it is a transfer from non WMS warehouse to a WMS warehouse. Any insight will be appreciated.

    Hello Madhura,

    TO from Non-WMS to WMS enabled warehouse does not allow to create Load Planning Work Bench, were actually the ASN information is tied to. So I don`t think its possible to setup ASN integration for same.

    In the scenario like this I'd ask why cannot the 3PL warehouse be an advanced warehouse.

    Warehouse management configuration can be pretty flexible, even if the warehouse is marked as "advanced", it doesn't necessarily has to be complex. There could be advanced warehouse with very simple operations. This would allow to ramp up on complexity where required, just like in the example of ASN transfer.
