D365FO Partner Trial process changed?

(1) ShareShare

Posted on by 25

In recent years we've got our D365FO partner trial via https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/dev-tools/sign-up-preview-subscription and then following the link PartnerSource and then the link "sing up for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations Partner Trial".

This year, things obviously changed. After clicking on PartnerSource we land on https://partner.microsoft.com/en-US/solutions/business-applications/dynamics-onprem where the Partner Trial isn't mentioned at all.

Have things moved? Where is the Trial-Offer-Link now?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi JeDe,

Please follow the same information mentioned on below MS docs page to activate your partner/customer trial. An additional step that you have to do is to create "Lifecycle Service Project" and just deploy demo and development environment in your Azure subscription. All the steps are mentioned are mentioned on the link.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi JeDe,

Adding to what Junaid said earlier you also have a way to access 30-day trial without having the access to the  development environment.

Please use the link below and you can use this to create D365 FinOps and other D365 related products too.

    Thanks

    Kasun

The reply is solely my personal opinion. It doesn't reflect my employer or Microsoft opinion.

my D365 related web site link is below

Junaid and Kasun - sorry, my description may have been to short.

The problem is not, that we don't have a trial. We have a Trial-License, that will end in November 2020 and we have dozens of D365FO machines on Azure.

With partner trial, I mean the license that you see in the O365 Admin panel.

This is valid for one year and this was created in recent years with the Partner-Trial-Offer-Link on the page behind the Partner Source Link.

Every time, we used that link and the process behind, we received a Partner Trial license in the O365 Admin panel. Two years ago, we did this twice by accident and then we had two of those licenses in the O365 Admin panel.

From my point of view, this Partner Trial license is the prerequisite to create Azure Environments within LCS.

Within the documentation on  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/dev-tools/sign-up-preview-subscription the "Subscribe" section is before the "LCS" section.

I think, this is because without that license it would not be possible to choose D365FO in LCS at all.

The problem is, in the subscribe section there is nothing we can click on (except the https://trials.dynamics.com/ that is not what we need here).

The formerly contained link "sign up for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations Partner Trial" is gone and I'm not aware of any alternative to renew our existing Partner Trial license.

    Hi JeDe,

I sent a message to Microsoft. Awaiting their reply. If you are in the need for the renewal, you can also contact Microsoft Support.

    Hi JeDe,

I've signed up for the on-premises trial. When I checked under Project settings  its showing as a partner.

except for cloud Implementation, I've able to deploy Build /Dev and Configure Azure DevOps, etc.

if you wanna try, here is the link which i've used: signup.microsoft.com/Signup (offer ID moderated)

Hi Amith, I can create an OnPrem LCS Project as well and I'm also displayed as a Partner. In that, there is no difference to you.

    But the link is interesting.

Your link contains an offer-ID: signup.microsoft.com/Signup (Offer ID moderated)

Some of those links were posted here in the forum. When I use your link, after logon I get an Error-Page with: Error Code: InvalidOffer

It seems to be a personalized link that only works for you.

So may I ask you, where did you get the link from?

  • A.Prasanna Profile Picture

Actually, I had this link copy-pasted with me.  but as far as I can remember it is from a public source (mean either MS or the Blog post) and it's not a personalized URL or the invitation.

    Thanks ,

    Amith Prasanna

Please note that Microsoft is proving offer IDs under NDA. It is not allowed to share the offer ID in public (like on this forum). I have removed the links as sharing these offer IDs are a violation of your agreement with Microsoft.

    Hi André,

did you get a response from MS yet?

I've contacted dyn365bep@microsoft.com and daxcf@microsoft.com - up to now no response.

I've created a ticket and get a response from MBS Customer Care Operations Mbsquery@microsoft.com

Unfortunately with no solution: "We have investigated your request but unfortunately this topic is out of our scope."

    Do you have any idea?

Unfortunately, no response yet. I will try to send a friendly reminder.
