Effect of rounding rules

Hi,

What are some of the impacts by switching prices from 2 to 4 decimal precision as highlighted below? The rest of rounding rules will remain the same. The main purpose of the switch is to have costs rounded to 4 decimals instead of 2. So far, costs had to be uploaded manually in some cases to preserve their 4 decimal precision. I would like to change that.

Thank you

    Hi D.,

Do you have item prices that are specified for 100/1000/10000 pcs or more or do you setup your prices on a single item level (e.g. $5.0009 for 1 pcs? Depending on how you setup your item prices you have to be a bit careful and do some testing to ensure that fixing the problem with the upload will not create a rounding problem somewhere else for example when you sell and consume those items.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

That's why I would like to implement rounding rule rather than continue with uploads. Majority of prices are for 1 unit and not for multiples such as 10/100 etc.

If you always sell single pieces of your products rounding to 0.0001 should be ok. Yet, if you purchase/sell bundles of 10, 20, 30... this rounding might result in Cent differences and I would rather use 0.01 because that's the smalles accounting unit. Best regards, Ludwig
