Asset management: Counter (RecId) in checklist is not the same as the asset counter (RecId)

We have setup a maintance checklist including a counter. The maintance checlist is automatically assigned to the work order based on it's type.

We have have the issue the the counter value from the checklist is not posted on the cunter of the asset. Funny enough all entries in the EntAssetWorkOrderLineChecklist table show the same RecId under counter.

Is this a bug? Or are we missing something? Thanks
