Account numbers couldn't be displayed completely in the GP reports

Hi All,

We are facing a critical live issue.

Actually GP reports are incompletely displaying the account numbers for all the users (except sa).

For sa, the Reports.dic is in the local machine. For the users, it is in the shared path. We have tried to configure sa's dic path to this shared folder, and generated the reports. It was working fine. But users are still facing the issue.

Will importing reports as a package help? Or can we try to replace the Reports.dic in shared folder with the latest file from local machine (sa's)?

Any advice on this would be highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

    good point Richard..

if ALS is not enabled, you should be all good.. The 'Use security' is OK, and you want this checked, as otherwise you would operate GP without any security access to the various forms & reports.

My best guess would be that the 'sa' user has access to a modified version of the report, whereas regular users don't have.

Compare in the User Security form what 'Alternate Forms & Reports' Role the 'sa' is assigned to and check if other users are assigned the same.. You can have as many alternate roles as you want, the important thing is to be consistent and make sure the users have access to the proper custom forms & reports.

Don't forgot the most basic check of all. Now that you are sure all computers and users are using the same dictionary files, go to your DEX.INI file and change SYNCHRONIZE=FALSE to SYNCHRONIZE=TRUE. This will synchronize your DYNAMICS.DIC file with the account structure in the database. When you launch GP it will force you to run GP Utilities. As it does that pay close attention to the screen. You must see a splash screen flicker by saying synchronizing to account framework.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

I've checked that all the users including sa use the same version of reports.

And the checkbox next to Account Security is unchecked. Only the checkbox Security is checked. Will that be an issue here?

I shall try to re-create the Reports.Dic and Forms.Dic now.

By any chances, could you check if Account Level Security is enabled in GP ?

    Administration >> Setup >> Company >> Company

verify if the checkbox next to Account Security is enabled.

    Hi,

Richard makes a good point if you pointed sa to the same dictionary as the users are pointing to.

Typically, recreating both the forms.dic and reports.dic resolves this.

Under Alternate Forms and Reports make sure everyone is using the same version of the report.

    Tools->Setup->System->Alternate Forms and Reports
