Installing Dynamics SL 7.0 on Windows 7 64bit

What am I doing wrong? Cannot get the software Dynamics 7.0 installed on a PC running Windows 7 64bit OS. Did not have a new version of SQL Server so I used a free version of SQL Server 2012 express.. It just will not install properly. One message states something about MDAC/sqlredis.exe??? Need advice to get this running, Please!

    Hi Nanatech,

    I am wondering which version of SL 7 you are trying to install? The first version of SL to support a 64bit operating system is SL 7.0 FP1.

     

    Please refer to the System Requirements Guide for SL 7 found here. You will want to look at the Database Server(s) section for the versions of SQL Server that are supported with the use of SL 7.x and you will also want to look at the Client Workstations section for additional information.

    If you are unable to get to the System Requirements Guide here are some key pieces that you will need:

     

    Database Server(s)

    Database

    One of the following:

    ï‚· SQL Server 2005 SP3 Standard or Enterprise (32-bit and 64-bit)

    ï‚· SQL Server 2008 Standard or Enterprise (32-bit and 64-bit)

    7,8,9

    ï‚· SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard or Enterprise (32-bit and 64-bit)

    7,8,9

     

    Client Workstations:

     

    Operating system

    One of the following:

    ï‚· Windows Server 2008 Standard and Enterprise Edition R2 (64-bit only)

    ï‚· Windows Server 2008 Standard and Enterprise Edition (32-bit and 64-bit)

    ï‚· Windows Server 2003 Standard and Enterprise Edition R2 (32-bit and 64-bit) or Windows Server 2003 Standard and Enterprise Edition SP2 (32-bit and 64-bit)

    ï‚· Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise (32-bit and 64-bit)

    ï‚· Windows Vista SP2 Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise Edition (32-bit only)

    ï‚· Windows XP Professional SP3 (32-bit only)

    Note:

    On 64-bit operating systems, Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 FP1 and later will install in the "Windows on Window" folder and will run in 32-bit mode. Earlier Microsoft Dynamics SL versions do not support 64-bit operating systems.
