EFT for Payables and EFT File Security

For SOX controls, I was wondering if anyone had a solution to our issue with EFT files.  When I click to "Generate EFT File" it is creating a Text file in a shared directory as expected.  But that text file is now able to be opened and manipulated before it is uploaded to the bank.  Ideally, we would like to have windows group with the 4 people who currently are allowed to generate the EFT files, and set permissions so that they can generate that text file, but can't browse to or edit that file once it has been created.  But they do need to browse to that file when they upload it to the bank's website.  I have been working with the IT guys on the permissions for the folder, but so far we haven't been able to make any progress.  It's either I get an error message trying to create the EFT file that I don't have permission, or I can create it, browse to it, and then edit it.

Suggestions?

Know this is an old thread but has anyone come up with a solution for this problem?

    Thanks.

We were messing with the folder security yesterday and couldn't get what we wanted.  What I found out was that GP creates the file then appends to it.  So we tried to give permission to just create and not modify, but the result was creating an error message and the generation of a blank file.  We basically tried most of the combinations that we could to get the desired result, but we had no success.  Yes the folder is locked to everyone except those who can create the EFT file, but I would prefer them not to be able to edit it after the fact, like in notepad.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I dont know if you can create a security password before you can open a text file.

We where using folder security in our case and it works cool.
