Hi there,

I'm using Dynamics 365 (having looked up Settings > About) and I am working in a non-profit, so I assume I'm using an add-on, but don't know the details.  How can I work out what app I'm actually using so I know where to look for further help and training?

Thanks,

Sarah

    Welcome to dynamics!

The name of the app you are using is in the top left hand corner

If you were looking into formal training, here is the learning path:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../

If you just want to know where to go when you want to know how something works, here is the base link for all Dynamics documentation: docs.microsoft.com/.../dynamics365

If this helped you, please mark this as a verified answer.

    Hi partner,

    Glad to help you.

First, after opening your D365 environmnet , you will enter My Apps interface. Here you can choose your App.

If you have entered an app, you can see the name of the app you use in the upper left corner.

If you want to switch apps quickly, you can click on the chevron on the right side of 'Dynamics 365' in the upper left corner to open the sidebar of My App. Here you can choose App.

    Hi there,

Thanks so much for your support.  I am using Dynamics 365 Fundraising, but can't find any training/support online for this.  Any suggestions?

In terminology, let's look at the top navigation bar at the website to see where we are:

Dynamics 365: We are in a Dynamics 365 application

Fundraising: This is just an entity name which has been created by your developers

Dashboards: This is the home page of most entities

You are using Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement, so my above links are valid for learning about that product. 'Fundraising' just means that you are in an area of the application which your developers devoted to websites

Thanks a million for your help and patience Steven.  Does the fact that the app is called "Dynamics 365 - custom" mean that my Customer Engagement application has been customised for us and therefore just doesn't look the same as any tutorials I'm going to find online?

    Good question

No, not really. The Dynamics 365 - Custom is a name that is used for our legacy web client. This interface will be deprecated, and we are moving to our new interface, called the Unified Interface. It will look very similar to any tutorials that you find online. Not exactly the same, since your records will be different, but very close
