Delivery Schedule for Direct Delivery Purchase Orders

Hi, I need a different set of eyes – how the system can address the following issue:

  • A sales order is created and direct delivery purchase order is created
  • Direct delivery purchase order is confirmed
  • Some days later, supplier gets back saying that the original delivery date must be revised and it should be split (e.g. half per requested date, half delivered a week later).
  • I noticed that the delivery schedule option is disabled for direct delivery purchase orders. The only solution I found was to recreate the sales order line with correct delivery dates and generate DD PO again. Is there a better way?

Note that we must retain the marking so we cannot just create another line.

Thanks for the help

Please wait for the help from functional consultants.

Hi WillWU are you referring to MS functional consultants on the forum?

I'm a consultant myself but need input from others as the only solution seems to be the one I've posted above.

    Adrian,

With direct deliveries, you can alter the dates on both the sales order or purchase order line.

Sales order lines - You'll update the requested receipt date field and it will update the purchase order line automatically.

Purchase order lines - You'll update the confirmed receipt/ship date fields, the changes will also flow through to the sales order.

If you're having to account for two sets of dates, have you considered canceling the remainder on the parent line, then creating a new line that captures the respective quantities and dates?

Others may chime in with some more commentary on alternative courses.
