Difference between Dynamics CRM 2016 Online and On-Premise

Hi Dynamics CRM Team,

I am doing analysis of the Dynamics CRM for our development project. I tried to find the differences between the Online and On-premise application. Most of the documentation links refer the information beginning with 'Applies To: CRM 2016 on-prem, CRM Online'.

 

Is there any API difference between the Online and On-Premise 2016?

If at all any, could you please share the major differences and documentation for the same.

    The web services behave the same for On-prem and On-line. This gives you the detail.

    If you are going to develop something, a good practice is to do it and test it with online first. If it works well with the online restrictions, it will do with on-premise too. 

    For instance, on-premise allows you access to sql views using T-SQL, and you can change some system parameters not available in online version.
